Jane Christensen was born in New York City and received her BFA from Brigham Young University in 2017. Jane works across media including painting and photo. Her work has been featured on Aint-Bad and Humble Arts Foundation. Jane is a current artist-in-resident at the Utah Museum of Contemporary Art in Salt Lake City.
I think about the relationship I have with location. I often want to exist in certain areas because of the disorientation I feel in an unfamiliar or vacuous space. Existing in a location somewhere between reality and fiction attracts me as an artist and is a recurring concept within my personal interests, whether it means going out and getting lost in the desert, or escaping into a film’s dream sequence.
